Who is the ugliest of them all?

On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, students at Dyersburg High School came in with Santas, elves, snowflakes and bells covering their tops. They jingled and jangled down the hallway—a for sure sign that Christmas is coming.

Every year at DHS, students take a part in the ugly Christmas sweater contest. Some sweaters are covered in rainbows and others seem to have snowmen barf all over them. Any sweater seen in the DHS halls on this day has only one purpose: can it out ugly the ugliest of them all?

For the sweater competition, students and teachers voluntarily submit themselves to the competition. One student and one teacher are chosen to become the champion of ugly Christmas sweater day. The winner this year among teachers was librarian, Mrs. Cindy Elkins, and the student winner of the contest was senior Zoe Pounders.

DHS hopes to always continue this tradition to bring the joy and spirit of Christmas into classrooms.

Many students ranging from ninth to twelfth grade took a part in the contest for having the ugliest Christmas sweater. DHS continues to spread the Christmas spirit every year with this competition.
