On Tuesday, January 7, Dyersburg hosted Humboldt. The Trojans' blazing hot start against Humboldt wasn’t quite enough to secure the entire game. After a hot first quarter with Jeff Cobb knocking down Three 3-point attempts, the Trojans were rolling. Going into the second quarter the Trojans weren’t able to keep the momentum running, putting up only 7 second-quarter points and letting the lead get to within 1 before the half. Coming out of the half, the leading scorer of the night, Jace Ward, knocked down his third and fourth 3-pointers of the night. The Trojans were in a head-to-head battle with Humboldt’s leading scorer Kendrick Taylor who had 8 third-quarter points to help Humboldt take the lead by 3 at the end of the third quarter. After an intense fourth quarter, the Trojans barely fell short in a 58-61 loss at home.
