Torch staff views eclipse from afar

On Monday, April 8, students from Dyersburg High School experienced a solar eclipse. DHS students witnessed 95% totality, with only a sliver of the sun peeking out. Several members of the Trojan Torch traveled to Kennett, Missouri to experience eclipse totality. At 1:57 in Kennett, the sky grew dark and for just a few short minutes, the stars twinkled in the day sky. The students watched the ring of fire, a once-in-a-lifetime experience before their eyes. Another solar eclipse will not pass over America until August of 2044.
