Local Spirit Squads demonstrated their skills before a large crowd on Sunday night.

DHS Dance and competition cheer prepared for their upcoming national competitions.

Sunday night, The Dyersburg High School dance team and competition cheer team performed their routines in preparation for their respective national competitions this upcoming weekend. Other teams that performed included the regional-winning Dyersburg Middle School dance team and The Fine Arts Warehouse Youth and Junior Sparks.

To kick the showcase off, The DHS Dance Team performed their gameday routine, which has won them a regional title and TSSAA state runner-ups. Next were the Sparks, who compete in April and May. After this, The DHS Competition Cheer Team performed their 2x champion and 2x grand champion-winning gameday routine. The DMS Dance Team followed them with their pom routine which won them 1st at their regionals. To end the showcase, The DHS Dance Team performed their pom routine, which also earned them a 1st place spot at their regionals.

This showcase was put on so the DHS Spirit Squads could practice in front of a crowd before they both travel to Florida this coming weekend for nationals. The DHS Dance Team will be competing at National Dance Alliance Nationals in the categories of small varsity gameday and intermediate pom in Orlando, Florida. The DHS Competition Cheer Team will be competing at the Deep South Nationals in the category of gameday in Destin, Florida.

Both teams had note stations set up to send luck to an individual's favorite cheerleader or dancer at the showcase along with cupcakes and refreshments to celebrate these teams' upcoming competitions. At the showcase, the community sent lots of love and luck to the Spirit Squads as they prepare to represent Dyersburg High School at nationals.
