Rivals struggle in opening game

On Friday, August 23, the Trojans played the Dyer County High School Choctaws at Choctaw Stadium. Although Dyersburg fell short with a score of 16 to 47, they persevered through a game filled with multiple injuries and cramps. Many members of both communities came out to Newbern to support the Trojans and Choctaws, showing their school spirit.
