Pep rally readies students for annual rivalry

Sam Jayroe - Reporter

During last Friday's pep rally, the seniors played their game against the staff. Though the senior class expected to put up a strong game, the staff team took full advantage of their many years of experience. The crowd watched in awe as the staff team dominated the court.

Between the two halves of the basketball game, there was a layup contest as well as a free throw contest which both resulted in students being outscored by coach Shearon.

As the second half of the basketball game concluded, students prepared themselves for the cupcake eating contest which yet again gave Mr. Walters the opportunity to show his skills. The contest was over in mere seconds as Mr. Walters inhaled his two cupcakes as well as another during his celebration.

Even though the students lost all events against the staff, it gave everyone a much-needed break from the struggles of the school day.
