The Dyersburg High School Lady Trojans played Madison Academic on September 28. The Lady Trojans suffered their first loss, losing 2 - 4.
DHS started fierce, scoring in the seventh minute off a set-piece. Madison responded quickly, scoring their first goal in the eighth minute.
Freshman Zainab Manneh went on to score the Lady Trojans’ second point in the 27th minute. Madison Academic finished out the first half, responding with a goal in the 32nd minute.
Madison scored twice more in the second half of the game, scoring in both the third and ninth minute.
“We’ll just try and bounce back,” Head Coach Musa Manneh said in a pep talk with the team after the game.
Madison Academic was the Lady Trojans’ first loss of the season, making their record 9 - 1 - 1.
“I’m pretty upset,” Captain Breuklyn Stone said. “But losses happen and all we can do is learn from it.”
