On Friday, February 24, Coach Tim Strayhorn’s girls took the Haywood Tomcats in a 61-31 blowout in the Quarterfinal round of the 7AAA Regional Tournament. The Lady Trojans moved on to play the Obion Central High School Lady Rebels on Monday, February 27, in hopes of moving on to the semi-final round of play.
During the semi-final game, the girls encountered a back-and-forth battle, but the Lady Trojans walked out of Obion Central High School with a dub on Monday night, sending Strayhorn’s girls to the Sub-State round of their path to the State Tournament. The Lady Trojans ended the game with a 48-40 score and knocked the Obion County Lady Rebels out of the Regional Tournament. They play again on Thursday against Dyer County in competition for the Regional Champion title. Although both teams will still be moving on to Sub-State, our girls need support, especially for the inner-county rivalry matchup!
