On Thursday, January 9, The Lady Trojans faced off against the Lady Chargers, and it is not one the Lady Trojans want to remember. Westview was firing on all cylinders throughout the game, but in the first quarter, it was all Gras and Sims for the Lady Chargers combining for five 3-point shots. For Dyersburg, they couldn’t get anything on the board; they only had 3 girls score 2 points each in the first quarter leaving the Lady Trojans down big time with a score of 6-25. The second wasn’t much different, Sims and Gras each added another 3-point shot to the score sheet. Dyersburg guards Strayhorn and Harrell were able to hit a 3-point shot each but were only able to put up 10 second-quarter points making the score at half 16-43. In The second half, Westview was silent. The Black and Gold finally had things going for them, hitting four 3-point shots. One of those shots was made by Chelby Jordan for her 1000th career point within her high school career. Dyersburg held the Chargers to only 13 points in the third quarter but it wasn’t enough. In the fourth quarter, there wasn’t much falling for either team. Gras for Westview was able to get her fourth 3-point shot to fall and Jordan for the Trojans added 4 more points by her name in the score sheet. Even though the Lady Trojans held Westview to only 22 second-half points, it wasn’t enough; the Lady Trojans fell short to a score of 45-67. Go Trojans!
