Lady Trojan Volleyball sweeps OC Lady Rebs

On Tuesday, August 22, the Lady Trojans volleyball team hosted their first home game of the season. Sweeping Obion County Central in the first 3 sets, the varsity volleyball team sits at a current record of nine wins and one loss for their 2023 fall season. Additionally, the junior varsity team beat the Obion County Rebels in the first two sets.

The Lady Trojans secured the first set with a score of 25-6. Senior setter Hope Colbert led the way with strong assists to front-row hitters Courtney Richardson and Preslee Quertermous, who both scored the most offensive points in the first set. The libero, Alli Alford, set up a strong defense to shut out the Rebels.

The second set ended at a 25-15 point win for the Trojans. Leading scorers included juniors Preslee Quertermous and Addie Gatlin. Junior setter Kate Schroeder provided several assists to the outside and middle hitters during this set.

The third and final set for the Lady Trojan varsity volleyball team ended at a 25-11 score. Leading scorers for this set are senior Courtney Richardson, junior Addie Gatlin, and junior Kalli Maclin. Defensive specialist Sophie Stowe also assisted Alli Alford in securing the back row for an easy win against the Lady Rebels.

The Lady Trojans volleyball team plays again on Thursday, Aug 24, vs. Crockett County at Dyersburg High School. The theme for game night is neon, so support your lady Trojans with your brightest colors!
