Luis Martinez - Reporter

On Tuesday, September 27, the DHS girls' soccer team won 7-0 against the Lexington Tigers. The game started strong with 2 goals in the first five minutes from Zainab Manneh and Virginia Kerber respectively, both with an assist from Addie Hurt.

Kathleen Harrell then scored a hat-trick with two assists from Addie Hurt and a penalty kick. Addie Hurt ended her game with four assists and two goals.

This game came after an outstanding performance in their district game in Alamo against the Crockett County Cavaliers. The Lady Trojans also had to say farewell to their foreign exchange teammate Mariana Vargas as it was her last game before returning to her home country. This game brought them to a win streak of 4.

Their next game is October 11 when they will play either the Obion County Rebels or the Dyer County Choctaws in the district semifinals.
