The Dyersburg High School Lady Trojan soccer team celebrated their senior players during Senior Night last night.
Seniors Elizabeth McDonald, Breuklyn Stone, Madelyn Webb and Aria Cloar were recognized during half time of the Lady Trojans contest against Lexington. All four girls were escorted by their parents. Juniors Kayelyn McCaslin, Anna Staggs and Ally Kate Byars, as well as sophomore Morgan Hammons delivered flowers to the departing players.
The Lady Trojans beat the Lexington Tigers 5-0. Staggs opened the scoring in the ‘31 minute, followed by freshman Anna Fisher in the ‘55. freshman Zainab Manneh also scored in the ‘61 minute, finishing with 2 goals from sophomore Addie Hurt in the ‘71 and ‘77 minute. Goalkeeper McDonald kept a clean sheet, not allowing a goal for the entirety of the 80 minute match.
DHS Lady Trojan soccer’s next contest kicks off at JC Sawyer Stadium against McKenzie High School on September 8.
