The Lady Trojan basketball team played the Crockett County Cavaliers on Tuesday, January 12. The Lady Trojans lost 33-36 but put up a fight. This season has been incredibly unusual and left a lot of unexplored territory in fighting a pandemic. COVID-19 has significantly changed this year’s basketball season for both the boys’ and girls’ teams.
“Not as many people come to the games and almost everybody’s been quarantined so it’s easy to get out of shape,” senior basketball player Lyric Latham said.
Because of COVID-19, Governor Bill Lee has limited fanfare allowed at indoor games. Basketball players are allowed a maximum of four tickets for approved persons. The only other people allowed into the games are emergency personnel, coaching and team staff, school administrators and media/scouting personnel. The games are broadcast live on Eagle 97.3 for parents and other students to listen to for free.
