Last Friday’s homecoming celebrations included Dyersburg High School’s first pep rally of 2023. Before the scheduled events, students watched the junior and senior classes finish Thursday’s intramural basketball game. After a short but exciting game, the senior class came out on top.

Following the intramural game, the student section watched performances from the dance, step, and cheer teams. There was also a musical hoola-hoops competition where sophomore Kamani Stevenson was victorious.

To cap off the pep rally, girls’ basketball head coach Tim Strayhorn said some words to hype up the students and encourage them to attend the big game.

Despite the short 30-minute time, DHS managed to fit a lot of excitement into the afternoon. This was just one part of our exciting Homecoming week that has left students eager for our next pep rally.
