Mahaffey's squad unfortunately ended their season in a 62-50 loss to the Haywood Tomcats in the Region Semifinal game.
The Trojan’s trailed by three after the first quarter 16-13. Jaylon Brown had 9 of the Trojans’ first-quarter points. He scored Dyersburg’s only two points in the second quarter. The score at halftime was 25-15, Haywood.
Ace Mahaffey got hot in the second half, but unfortunately, it was not enough to keep up with the Tomcats. Mahaffey’s squad attempted to make a comeback in the fourth quarter but could not prevail.
Ace Mahaffey (20) and Jaylon Brown (18) combined for 38 of the Trojans’ 50 points. The leading scorer for Haywood was Tylon Chatham with 31 points.
This was the final game in a Trojan uniform for seniors Jaylon Brown, Malik McLin, Ryan Lowrance, and Tymon Harvey.
