Have a good time at the Dyer County Fair

The fair is one of the most exciting times of the year for Dyersburg. While the safety of the rides is questionable there is no doubt you will have a good time if you follow my guide to the best and worst rides at the fair.

Starting off with the classics, Area 51, the Chaos, the Fireball and the Zipper. Riding these three will guarantee you a good time. They might be a little scary for the faint of heart, but if you get over your fear, these thrilling rides will give you an amazing time.

A new addition to the fair this year is the Flipper. It is definitely one of the scariest rides there, but it is so worth it. This is a must on your trip to the fair this year!

The worst rides this year have to be the Sizzler and Music Fest (formerly the Himalayas). For both of these rides, you are in for a painful ride. The rides have many similarities.

Music Fest is on a track that used to go backward and forward, but now only goes backward. The momentum and angle of the cart make you fall against another person or against the side of the cart. Having your ribs hitting against the side constantly with someone beside you is an awful experience that I recommend skipping.

The Sizzler is almost worse. You and one to two others sit on a bench that is whipped around. The plastic of the bench of the movement of the ride tends to leave riders with painful red marks on their thighs. Not to mention if you try to stay still your head will be whipped around in a way that will leave you with a neckache.

Now that you know what rides to ride and avoid, grab a lemonade and some fried Oreos and have the grandest time at the Dyer County Fair!
