Group A students who received a GPA of 3.6 or higher during the third trimester of the 2019-2020 school year were celebrated with a party during the advisory period on September 8.

Students were dismissed from their advisory period and told to meet in the cafeteria where they were given donuts and soda and allowed to sit with their friends and socialize. There were also three gift bags for lucky students to win throughout the celebration.

Volunteers from each grade, sophomore TyMon Harvey, junior Eva Boatright and senior Sara Clifft were called in front of the students to play a game. The game consisted of having three donuts, spaced six feet from each other, on a rope, and having the contestants eat them the fastest they can in a minute without using their hands or having any of the donuts fall to the ground.

Junior Eva Boatright was the winner of the game and was given a gift bag containing a T-shirt and candy. The gift bags were sponsored by First Community Bank.

The second game had sophomore Makendra Ezell, junior Edward Cloar and senior Mattie Gregson throw plastic donuts into a container, earning either one or two points per donut in the containers. Junior Edward Colar was the winner of the game and received a gift bag sponsored by First Community Bank. The last gift bag was given to junior Kady French who won a randomized drawing.

Group B students will have their party during the advisory period on September 15.
