On Tuesday, October 10, the DHS golf team traveled to participate in the TSSAA Class AA State Tournament in Sevierville, Tennessee. Senior Ace Mahaffey and freshman Ryan Wesson lead the way on Thursday, each shooting a 90 on the first 18 holes. Following close behind were golfers Hayden Humphreys at 94, John David Morris at 105, and Taylor Dunn at 109. This finished the Trojans in 8th place after their first day of the tournament. On Friday, Ace Mahaffey clocked in 74 points making for a 16-stroke improvement from the day before. This score boosted Mahaffey to 25th in the state ranking. Among others with improvements include Humphreys shooting an 89, Wesson a 96, and Morris an 87. The Trojan Golf team arrived at home with the place of seventh in the state! Congratulations to the Trojans on placing in your first state appearance!
