Strayhorn and Jordan scored 5, Quinn scored 3, and Crawford and Kalli Maclin landed 2 points each. Although the girls did not score as many points in this quarter, their goal was still clear- they would make it back to state for the second year in a row. By the half, Dyersburg Lady Trojans were up 44-15, further exemplifying this goal.
The second-half was just as exciting for fans and players alike. The Lady Trojans scored 26 points in the third quarter. Strayhorn, Harrell, and Jordan dropped 2 points. Briana Parr and Maclin landed 4 pints, and Crawford scored 8. By the end of the third, the Lady Trojans were up 70-25. The atmosphere of Terry Glover was unbelievable as fans soon realized that The Lady Trojans were going back to state.
In the fourth quarter, 10 points were scored in total. 5 points were dropped by Briana Parr, Dakaya Holder scored 2, and Lily-Kate Jones scored a 3 pointer. By the end of the fourth, the lady Trojans were up 80-33. This not only proved that the girls were ready to go back to state for the second year in a row but also that they still carried the potential and momentum from last season and were ready to take home the state championship title. Soon after the fourth quarter ended, the Basket-Cutting ceremony took place, symbolizing the amazing victory of the Lady Trojans and the hard-work they went through this season. Dyersburg Nation is more than ready to see another Gold Ball put in the Dyersburg High School trophy case and will be supporting the Lady Trojans next Thursday at MTSU while they compete for the state championship. As always, Congratulations, and go Trojans!!!
