Football kicks off with annual Hamburger Supper

Tuesday night at 6 p.m., DHS hosted the annual Hamburger Supper to kick off the new football season. The football players, cheerleaders, dance team, band members, coaches, and many parents attended the supper. The coaches and directors introduced the student athletes by grade. The speaker, Charles Dawson, spoke about the importance of this season and his anticipation to witness the capabilities of this year's football team. A representative of STAR Physical Therapy also introduced some employees that will be working with athletes this school year. Coach Bart Stowe gave the football team and the other student athletes useful advice about the upcoming season.

“We have a good bunch of experience coming back from last year,” Stowe said, “we’re excited about the future.

The football jamboree will take place Friday night at J.C. Sawyers Stadium. The Trojans will be competing against the Crockett County Cavaliers.
