Dyersburg Holds On To a Close One In Overtime

Dyersburg faced off against Crockett County In The Glove looking to get a big district win before having to face Dyer County at their place on Friday night.
Dyersburg had scattered scoring throughout the first with Cobb and Higgins each scoring five points helping the Trojans have the lead at the end of the first 17-10.
The second quarter was an all-out showdown. Ward for the Trojans had nine second-quarter points helping the Trojans stay in the game. Frye for the Cavs was absolutely on fire knocking down back to back to back three-point shots making it a tied game going into halftime 35-35.
In the Third quarter, Turnage for the Trojans scored eight points helping Dyersburg have a pretty large lead at the end of the third 57-46.
With the Trojans up 11 going into the fourth, the Cavs didn’t care it was a dogfight to the buzzer. The Cavs started fouling with a minute and ten to go. Crockett County hit a few big shots and made it a two-point game with 12 seconds to go. Dyersburg inbounded the ball and was fouled immediately. Ward missed his first one and made the second, making it a three-point game. The Cavs inbounded the ball, ran down the court down three, and put up a deep three, Reed drained it and sent the game to Overtime.
Ward had five points in overtime helping the Trojans get a huge win in district play with a score of 72-68.
