Dyersburg High School will remain on the modified version of Phase 2 for the week of September 21-25. However, all students except seniors will be doing distance learning from home on September 22, and all students except seniors will be in school on September 23.
This modified schedule is a result of the state-wide ACT that will take place on the 22. Typically, juniors take a free ACT test in the spring; however, due to the unprecedented coronavirus, that ACT was canceled. Now, the class of 2021 will have the opportunity to take their free ACT on the 22.
Because the test is offered only to the seniors, students in the three remaining grades will be given an at-home day to complete their work via Google Classroom on the day of the test. As a conciliation gift to the seniors, and in the name of fairness, the administration will give seniors an at-home day the following day, while freshmen, sophomores and juniors take a practice ACT.
