On January 16, Dyersburg High School hosted the annual Football Banquet for the 2024 season. The banquet recognized each football player, dance team member and football cheerleader, firstly, with a Letterman Award. The event started with a warm meal prepared by Coby Jo’s Diner, and ended with individual awards for the football players. The awards included the "Pop"corn Spirit Award, given to Lucas Pounders and Trenton Jones. Next, the Hit Somebody Award was presented to Alfred Johnson. Then, the JC Sawyers Award was presented to Breyden Turnage. The Service Award was given to Anna Jones. The Team Captains, Grant Dykes and Kaylen Edwards, were recognized. Later, the Honorable Mentions for All-Region 7-3A were given a silver trophy. Those players included Charles Jordan, Jaxen Perkins, Quincy Terry Jr. and Jadan Harris. Kalen Edwards, Peyton Hill, Grant Dykes, Kalik McElrath, Breyden Turnage, A.J. Higgins, Kendrick Gourley and Necari Hall were all presented as 1st Team All Region 7-3A and recieved a gold trophy. Lastly, the Region 7-3A Superlatives recognized were Peyton Hill as running back and Kalen Edwards as Defensive MVP. The Tennessee Football Coaches Association Division 1 Class 3A also titled Kalen Edwards as the All State Defensive Lineman. The banquet concluded an amazing 2024 season for the Trojans!
