DECA is known for preparing “emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.” DECA helps many students find a passageway into the marketing and finance field. DECA club does this by organizing trips for students as an engaging and fun way to learn the ins and outs of how businesses market themselves.
Dyersburg High School’s DECA students recently took a trip to the FedEx Forum to learn how the Memphis Grizzlies run their marketing team. There were five Grizzlies’ representatives explaining different subjects such as how they integrate work and life or the importance of their social media presence.
After meeting with the representatives, the students ate at the Hard Rock Cafe on Beale Street just before going to the Grizzlies game.
Trips like these give the students a fun and informative way to have an insight into what goes on in a company’s public image.
