This past weekend Dyersburg Competition Cheer received two new titles at the Deep South Nationals in Biloxi, Mississippi. Their routine is three minutes long and consists of a band dance, sideline cheer, cheer and a fight song. The competition squad has spent many grueling hours practicing and perfecting this routine with their coach, Kim Yeiter, and it has ultimately paid off. The team was very excited to hear their names called for champion and grand champion.
“After they called our names for champion and grand champion, the whole team was jumping and screaming with excitement,” freshman Addi Lloyd said.
This would mark the second competition they have received those titles and the squad is hoping for a clean sweep at the next competition located in Destin, Florida.
