On Monday, November 28 approximately 20 Dyersburg High School students left after their lunch to represent DHS at the Beta convention in Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. They participated in many different competitions. Students participated in English, math, engineering, art, speech, spelling, and social studies competitions; while sophomore Hannah Pankey ran for President. They also had a skit competition for Hannah’s campaign.

Students attended many assemblies where they were able to vote on candidates and help Hannah Pankey campaign for president. The attendees saw many talented people perform in several skits. They also met many new people from all across Tennessee.

Senior Josh Bernheisel won first place in twelfth-grade math and senior Carrie Semmel placed fifth in twelfth-grade English. Clare Bernheisel won first place in tenth-grade English. Nathan Paschall placed fifth in eleventh-grade social studies.

These students positively represented Dyersburg High School at the Beta Convention. Congratulations on your successful trip!
