Basketball, Cheer hold annual banquet

On Apr 12, Dyersburg High School celebrated the end of its basketball season with the annual Basketball Banquet. The coaches recognized the hard work and dedication of the DHS basketball team and honored the senior athletes. Senior Ryan Lowrance was awarded the Stat Stuffer award and senior Malik McLin was awarded Assists Leader. Senior Ty’mon Harvey was presented with the Leadership award and junior Ace Mahaffey was awarded Leading Three-point shooter. Sophomore Breyden Turnage was presented as Leading Rebounder and senior Jaylon Brown was deemed as MVP of the 2023 season and given the Toughman Award.


Basketball cheerleaders were also recognized for their talents and efforts throughout the season at the awards banquet. Senior Ayja West was named Most Committed and senior Kylea Bingham was awarded Most Creative. Junior Malayia Wyatt was named Most Creative as well, and junior Presley Dishman was given the Best Cheer Sister title. Junior Madisson Patrick was chosen as Most Improved. Freshman Olivia Davis was given the Triple A award and freshman Bailey Nolen was deemed Rookie of the Year for the 2023 cheerleading season.


Overall, the night was a success of congratulations and recognition of the hard work, talent, and perseverance of our basketball team and cheerleaders. The seniors enjoyed their last basketball banquet of their high school careers and were wished the best of luck in their future endeavors.
