The band performed their field show, “It’s Possible,” in the pre-elimination round, competing for one of the ten spots in the finals round.
“I feel that there was a major improvement in our performance,” sophomore percussionist Luke Pepito said.
The DHS band competed in Class A against 3 other bands: Halls High School, Jackson Christian School and Haywood High School. In Class A, the band placed 1st in the categories of Drum Major and Percussion, 2nd in Band, and 3rd in Color Guard.
“After each competition, there are Judges' Critiques with the band directors. I've learned to apply that information so we can get better and elevate with every performance,” band director Jayvon Treadway said.
Throughout the season, the band has improved in rankings and scores at competitions. The band has also been working to learn the entirety of their three-movement field show.
“I'm so happy and proud to be the band director for this amazing program,” Treadway said. “I can't wait to grow and re-establish a culture of pride and excellence for this program!”
