13th Realm: Worth the wait?

Sam Jayroe - Reporter

The 13th Realm is a haunted attraction in Atwood Tn, which is around 30 minutes outside of Jackson Tn. Though you might have to wait in quite the line in order to enter the attraction, there is always something ready to scare you throughout your wait. With clowns and creatures prowling the area, waiting in the long line may not be too bad of an experience.

The entry fee is $30, but it only costs $15 more dollars to purchase the “speed pass.” With the speedpass, you are able to sit around a large bonfire instead of waiting in the line. You will likely wait only 10 to 15 minutes before you are led to bypass the entire line. But do not think that you are safe from scares while sitting around the fire, for there is always something lurking behind you.

After you exit the line and enter the main attraction, you will be met by small corridors with many places for someone to hide, paths through the woods that leave you unaware of what could be around you, and even a slide that only gets better at the bottom. To complete the trail, it takes around 45 minutes, though the time flies by while you are attempting to escape from chainsaw-wielding lunatics. After you traverse through the cornfield towards the end of the trail, you find yourself entering the gift shop, where you can buy Halloween-themed items and 13th Realm merchandise.

Before you exit, make sure to get a bite at one of the food trucks they have parked near the exit. The dates and times they are open can be found on their website 13threalm.com. I highly recommend attending this fear-inducing haunted house if you are intrigued by the eerie. To plagiarize R.L. Stine, viewer beware, you’re in for a scare.
